Transfer Rumour Roundup 27th June 2011

Monday, 27 June 2011

Rather than trying to explain everything individually it's much easier to give you the daily highlights on what is happening around Europe in the transfer market, so everyday from now to the start of the season you will get a full run down of transfer rumour and speculation.

The top news from the Premier League today is that Manchester United have made a £15m pound bid for Barcelona youngster Thiago Alcantara.  Barca's Spanish U21 midfielder shone in the sides recent victorious run in the Euros.  Alcantara is being billed as the natural replacement for long serving midfielder Paul Scholes who retired at the end of last season.

Lille seem to have finally got the idea that Gervinho is no longer wanting to stay in France, he has been linked with a whole host of clubs this summer, just about every top 10 team has had an interest and it seems that finally now he had indicated that he will be joining Arsenal at the Emirates for the beginning of the Premier League season, the fee is somewhere around £12m for the highly rated Ivory Coast International.

Big spending City are also ready to splash the cash, boss Roberto Manchini has highlighted three players he wants at Eastlands for next season.  The first is 23 year old Fiorentina midfielder Allesio Cerci, he has also been linked with Stefan Savic the 20 year old currently plays his football for Partizan Belgrade and commands a £7m asking price.  Last one on city's radar is Sergio Romero a 24 year old Montenegro goalkeeper, who will surely be brought in to cover Joe Hart as Shay Given will be leaving to pursue first team football.

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson has today joined the race to sign Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge, he faces stiff competition for the signature though as Bolton and Newcastle have already weighed up with bids believed to be around £6m for the England U21.

Going on elsewhere today Chelsea are hoping to hold onto Portuguese star Jose Bosingwa and stop him joining Besiktas.  Arsenal have made a club record bid for Juan Mata the Valencia midfielder is going to cost around £18m.  Premier League new boys QPR are lining up a bid for Italian World Cup winning captain Fabbio Cannavaro, and Man City have been told it will take a club record of £36m in order to bring top target Hulk of FC Porto to Eastlands for next season.

Arsenal chase new Fabregas

Saturday, 25 June 2011

The day after we hear that European giants Barcelona have made a £27m bid for Arsenal's star midfielder Cesc Fabregas, news comes that Arsene Wenger already has his potential replacement lined up in the shape of Ricardo Alvarez.

No deal has yet been reached with his club Velez Sarsfield but, highly rated sources have confirmed he is definitely of interest to Arsenal.  His signature is likely to cost around £11m making him the biggest signing to come to the Emirates this summer and a move for him would surely bring an end to the career of Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal.

Some believe the deal with Arsenal is already done with Palermo president Murizio Zamprini also interested in the player has made it public that Alavrez has already signed with the gunners.

Barcelona table £27m bid for Cesc Fabregas

Friday, 24 June 2011

The speculation and rumour has been running for months now, maybe even years but today Barca cheif Sandro Rossell has finally confirmed they have made a verbal bid of £27m to Arsenal for star midfielder Fabregas.  The Catalans have long been an admirer of the classy Spanish Midfielder and a transfer has been talked up for years with one big question looming large.  Will Fabregas stay at Arsenal, or will he follow his heart for Barcelona?

The £27m bid has been immediately rejected by Arsenal, however Barca are ready to go back with a £30m bid.  Maybe not quite enough to convince Arsene Wenger to let go of his prize asset but, if they come back with something around the £35m mark then the money may be to much temptation to turn down.

Just last year Barcelona failed with bids of £29m and £31m to bring Fabregas to the Nou Camp.  For now Fabregas has remained quite on the matter but in his heart he must surely be relishing a return to the club where he learned his trade and being afforded the opportunity of winning major trophies.
